Nudibrânquio relativamente raro, eventualmente menos observado pelos mergulhadores em virtude de ser mais frequente na zona intertidal, entre as anémonas de que se alimenta. Facilmente identificável pela marca branca em forma de Y invertido que passa entre os rinóforos e se estende para os tentáculos orais. Recentes estudos moleculares * revelaram que existem três espécies que até agora têm sido identificadas como A. papillosa, sendo A. filomenae distribuída nas costas europeias, da Escócia a Portugal.

A relatively common nudibranch in the Northern Atlantic but rarer further South although it's possibly less seen by divers due to being more common in the intertidal zone among the anemones it feeds upon. Easily identifiable by the inverted Y shaped white mark between the rhinophores and extending to the oral tentacles. Recent molecular studies * have revealed there are three species which have so far been identified as A. papillosa, with A. filomenae distributed from Scotland to Portugal.
