Menos comum do que outras espécies do género, é ainda assim bastante frequente. Poderá ser confundido com outras espécies do género (ver tabela de despiste). Distingue-se linha mediana no manto, ausência de marcas nos rinóforos e brânquias ou sem marcas ou com marcas amarelas interna e externamente, sendo que aqui apresentam duas linhas em cada secção. O recente trabalho de Rebecca Fay Johnson e de Terrence M. Gosliner reviu a filogenia desta família pelo que os membros atlânticos do género Hypselodoris foram reclassificados no género Felimare. Assim, a mais recente classificação desta espécie é Felimare fontandraui.
Apparently less common than the other species of the same genus yet still quite often found. It can be mistaken by other species of the Felimare genus (see table). It characterizes by a median white or yellow line on the mantle, uniform blue rhinophores and branchia either plain blue or with yellow lines inside and outside, in this case with double lines outside. The recently published work by Rebecca Fay Johnson and Terrence M. Gosliner has reviewed the phylogeny of this family so the atlantic members of the Hypselodoris genus are reclassified under the Felimare genus. Therefore, the most recent classification of this species is Felimare fontandraui.
